Playing Hard to Get is a Great Way to Hook a Man

Do you find playing hard to get impossible? Does it seem too complicated to understand, much less pull off in real life? Are you about to give up on playing mind games with men? Don't! Although life would certainly be simpler without them, men are wired to play head games much as they are wired to like football and pool. They are game-players by nature. If you find one who doesn't like games, there is probably something wrong with him. Playing hard to get is in your best interest, so you better learn how to do it properly.

Men don't just like a challenge. They need it. They have to feel as if they're being tested or they will lose interest in a woman. How can you accomplish this? Simply put, you have to make him believe that you have better things to do than hang out with him, even if your only plans for the weekend are to do laundry and scrub the kitchen floor. It's a simple premise, but putting it into action can often prove difficult.

The difficulty in playing hard to get is striking the right balance. You want to appear busy but not totally uninterested. The idea is to give the impression that you have many great things going on in your life, but you are willing to work this guy into your schedule. Make him feel lucky to have your attention without freezing him out. He will be intrigued by your other activities and want to know more about your life. He will also want to occupy a bigger part of it, which is the whole objective of the game. If you blow him off a time or two and he comes back for more, you're doing it right.

Let's say you meet a guy at the bar and you exchange phone numbers. If you want to play hard to get-which you should-you won't call him first under any circumstances. Taking the dominant role at this early stage will tell him that you are either desperate for male companionship or that you have nothing else going on in your life at the moment, neither of which is a good thing in his eyes. Let him do the calling. This will allow him to feel in control as well as sending the signal that you aren't dying for his attention. When he does make the initial call, make him work around your schedule, even if you don't have one.

Focus on having fun for the first few dates. Avoid getting into serious discussions about marriage, finances, or anything else that might scare him off. Steer the conversation toward more shallow subjects and make it clear that you're out to have a good time, not to bag a man for the purposes of marriage and procreation.

Playing hard to get isn't just for the dating elite. It can be done by any girl with a willingness to learn and a desire to hook a good man.
